Featured in the Feminist Seed Bank database, Zhen Xian Bao Thread Box Books are a traditional Chinese handicraft made from layers of handmade paper folded into interlocking compartments. Historically, they were used to store embroidery thread and sometimes, personal keepsakes. In this class, you will learn to make several variations of boxes assembled into a book formation using different papers including some made by me. $75 all materials included.
Felting on Handmade Paper. Saturday April 25, 11 - 1 pm. Reserve your spot
Inspired by my felt project in the Republic of Georgia, this class explores needle felting on handmade paper. I developed this technique to explore the intersection of paper and felt, two processes that share similarities in their formation and produce surprisingly beautiful results. Students will select from a variety of papers, including some of my handmade papers, and will work with felt roving from Peace Fleece. $75 all materials included.
